Loose Canon had the experience of being poor and happy as a youth in New Orleans--the cheap red beans and rice at Buster Holmes, a now-defunct restaurant on Burgundy Street in the French Quarter, a studio apartment on Pirate's Alley, right by St. Louis Cathedral, and Dixie Beer at the shabby genteel Napoleon House.

Living like that in the Big Easy was a southern version of "Rent," the Jonathan Larson musical about bohemians who stiff their landlord. So much of New Orleans embraced this carefree manner of living. But there's just one problem with this easy, boho existence. Somebody has to be responsible.
An article in the American Spectator explains why:
"You need one thing above all to maintain the at-ease poor lifestyle. The grown-ups, the straight people, have to be in charge. When you turn on the water or the light switch, you want them to work. If you get hit by a bus, you would hope the emergency services wouldn't simply leave you lying there.
"If you elect drifters and grifters to positions of leadership, sooner or later you'll get in big trouble. Kathleen Blanco and Ray Nagin might have made perfectly good waiters or saxophone players...."
The moral rot in New Orleans extended to the police department, many of whose officers decided not to show up for work on the days they were most needed by the citizenry. Jack Dunphy, an L.A. police officer, was particularly appalled by New Orleans's Lieutenant Henry Waller:
"'I left [my fellow officers] in a bad situation," Lieutenant Henry Waller told Anderson Cooper, 'but I would have been leaving my wife in a worse situation.'
"It's galling enough that this man dishonored himself and his badge by shirking his duty, but it's almost beyond belief that he would try to justify his decision on national television. 'We listened to the radio,' Waller said, 'we're hearing the things, the water's still rising, the water's still rising, the water's still rising. The looting is this, the looting is that. I started thinking, I said, well, you know, we've been hearing this story about the levees breaching all day. What if they're right and I get stuck in this car? I'm no good dead.'
"Well, maybe not. But as far as his fellow officers and the citizens of New Orleans were concerned, he was no good alive, either....
"It's unfortunate that Katrina overshadowed the fourth anniversary of the 9/11 attacks, but perhaps now is a good time to remember that day's heroes, the cops and firemen at the Twin Towers, the servicemen at the Pentagon, and all the countless others whose valor is today known only to God. When the unthinkable came to pass they put thoughts of their own safety aside and did what needed to be done, for many at the cost of their lives. If Henry Waller had been in Lower Manhattan that day, he would have been the first guy across the Brooklyn Bridge. Shame on him."
I've said it, and I'll say it again: It can't be noted too many times that many of New Orleans's problems are a legacy from welfare programs. President Bush's proposals to get people out of poverty rely on entrepreneurship rather than welfare or welfare-like programs. As National Review's Rich Lowry notes, liberals don't like this:
"The objection to these Bush proposals isn't fiscal, but philosophical. They serve to undermine the principle of government dependency that underpins the contemporary welfare state, and to which liberals are utterly devoted. In a reversal of the old parable, liberals don't want to teach people how to fish if they can just give them federally funded seafood dishes instead.
"The unemployed now get 26 weeks of federal unemployment benefits, which are often extended and also supplemented by various state programs. This is a social safety net that can become a trap. The longer and more generous benefits are, the less incentive someone has to find work (see Germany in particular and Western Europe generally for examples of the phenomenon at work). The Bush program would establish accounts that unemployed people could use as they see fit for education, training programs and child care to support their job search. If they find a job within 13 weeks they can keep up to $1,000 of the $5,000 account.

My gastroentrologist put me on lexapro. He said to take half tablet for 10 days and then from day 11 to take full tablet. He told me side effects would be strong and there maybe discomfort initially but in 2 to 3 weeks, the side effects should be gone and lexapro would start to benefit.
Any other IBS patient been put on lexapro? if so, did it work?

Lexapro for IBS??? hmmm, ibs is a b.s. name for a collection of food intolerances mate. i was diagnosed with IBS after being diagnosed with a plethora of other . it turns out im lactose intolerant, coeliac, severely intolerant to soy and processed sugar and an array of chemicals they use to our foods.. that was nearly 2 years ago that i finally addressed it all .. cos i had to ditch all the nastynastytoxicsludge antidepressants theyd pumped me full of first im full of bounce these day.
Change your physician mate and get a second opinion.. go and get yourself fully assessed by a naturopath or nutritionally oriented physician . get them to do testing for food allergies/intolerances and chemical sensitivities .what you ingest and absorb through your skin and breath can have a vast impact on the way you think, the way you feel and your overall health and vitality . seriously, you can live a pain free drug free life if only you know precisely what chemicals and foods are upsetting your system . it could be something as simple as lactose intolerance or an intolerance to processed sugar or wheat disorders from which people suffer due to intolerances to food or chemicals in their diets can cover almost the whole spectrum of physical and mental illnesses .. an extraordinary concept but mind blowingly true. do yourself a favor and go and get allergy tested.
in the meantime, try to eat as much whole fresh foods that you prepare yourself that includes a wide range of leafy and green vegies, some low sugar fresh fruits like watermelon, cantalope, pears and strawberries, some lean meats and fishes, brown rice, organic nuts and seeds like almonds, brazil nuts and sunflower seeds and lots of fresh filtered water . feed your body from Gods table and wean yourself off any highly processed, packagedsludge that has little to no nutritional value anyway.
In the meantime.. a good quality probiotic is a good idea to take too . Probiotics are helpful bacterium which produce the enzyme lactase which helps digest lactose, a milk sugartake a supplement before your main meals as this will help with the digestive process by encouraging the growth of beneficial bacteria in the digestive tract, it will also help maintain optimal intestinal pH, which, in turn, helps with complete digestion probiotics will increase the absorption of minerals, such as calcium, magnesium and sometimes iron too.. they also produce some of the B vitamins, including biotin, niacin, folic acid, pantothenic acid, vitamin B12 and vitamin B6 the B vitamins are essential for healthy neural, digestive and immune system functioning.
The freeze ~ dried form (powdered necessary to refridgerate) is most stable and easily used by the body buy a dairy free variety as this will be the easiest for your system to use.
Try to pinpoint any food intolerances or allergies you may have as well as bad digestive symptoms such as bloating, acid reflux, gassiness and tummy aches can all be symptoms of lactose intolerance (or simply that youve just finished a course of antibiotics) . try ditching the milk and dairy products for a few days to combat such digestive issues, and instead eat loads of leafy and green vegies, some organic nuts and seeds such as almonds and brazil nuts and some fresh tuna or salmon . all are rich in calcium as are fresh vegies such as carrotts and fruits such as oranges..Or simply drink organic rice milk fortified with calcium the fish are rich in both calcium and vitamin D.. vitamin D is needed for effective calcium assimilation and is known as the sunshine vitamin so make sure you get 10 - 15 mins per day of safe sun exposure.
You should feel a difference within a few hours of taking them .

Sixty-two percent of respondents had tried to lose weight in the last 12 months, with significantly more women trying to lose weight than men (P.0001). Also consistent with the predictions of the PKPD model, the 72-h AMF protocol significantly decreased animal mortality and mean nadir body weight loss (with or without diet pills) (p 0.01). Murine monoclonal AMI and AMF were produced, purified, and characterized.
In diet pills one rolando, conversion to open surgery was required. Compared with a preoperative BMI of 42.7 kg/m2, the weight loss (with or without diet pills) was statistically significant (p 0.001). 10 to 25% of patients undergoing bariatric surgery will require a revision, either for unsatisfactory weight loss (with or without diet pills) or for complications.
The average age was 40.3 years (range 20 to 58 years) and average original preoperative body mass index (BMI) was 51.6 kg/m2 (range 42 to 66.5). A laparoscopic weight loss armour thyroid approach may be considered a feasible and safe alternative to an open operation.. On average, revision was undertaken 52 months after the primary procedure (range 12 to 240 months). The average operative time was 232 /- 18.5 minutes (range 120 to 480) diet pills and length of hospital stay was 3.7 days (range 1 to 9). Application of pharmacokinetic-pharmacodynamic modeling to predict the kinetic and dynamic effects of anti-methotrexate antibodies in mice.We have hydrochlorothiazide and weight loss displayed that intravenous (i.v.) administration of anti-methotrexate (MTX) antibodies (AMAb) reduces the systemic exposure of intraperitoneal (i.p.) MTX therapy, and we have proposed that AMAb effects on MTX systemic exposure would allow a reduction in MTX-induced systemic toxicity (i.e., producing a desirable antagonistic effect).
Consistent with model predictions of agonist-like activity, weight loss the 24-h AMI protocol led to significantly increased animal mortality (all animals died, p 0.005) and mean nadir weight loss (with or without diet pills) (p 0.005). However, many literature reports have shown that anti-toxin antibodies occasionally demonstrate unexpected agonist-like why obese activity, increasing the extent of toxicity induced by their ligand. 27 consecutive obesity surgery patients, who had undergone a laparoscopic revision, were identified. Simulations predicted that both anti-MTX immunoglobulin hoodia G (AMI) and anti-MTX Fab fragments (AMF) would lead to increases or decreases in MTX toxicity, with effects dependent on the dosing protocol used. The 27 primary bariatric operations consisted of vertical banded gastroplasty (12), gastric band placement (9) and gastric bypass (6). In this report, we have utilized a pharmacokinetic-pharmacodynamic (PKPD) model to predict the potential of AMAb to increase or decrease the magnitude of MTX-induced body weight loss (with or without diet pills) in mice. 24 of the 27 laparoscopic reoperations were conversions to a gastric bypass. Based on the computer simulations, two protocols were selected for in vivo evaluation of predicted agonistic or antagonistic effects.
A second reoperation was indicated for insufficient hoodia weight loss (with or without diet pills) on four occasions. 26 of the 27 patients were women. 22% percent of patients (6) experienced complications, including pneumothorax, hcg injections for weight loss gastric remnant dilation, gastrojejunostomy stenosis, port-site hernia and protein malnutrition. The purpose of this study was to determine the safety and efficacy of reoperative surgery using a laparoscopic approach. Thus, these studies demonstrate that agonistic and antagonistic effects of anti-toxin antibodies may be predicted through the use of an integrated PKPD model. Women were significantly more likely than men to use liquid meals, to use diet pills, to join a weight loss (with or without diet pills) program, and to increase exercise levels to lose weight (P.05). Of those who tried to lose weight, most tried to lose weight by decreasing fried foods, decreasing sweets, and tables exercise levels.
A retrospective weight loss review of medical records over a 22-month period was conducted. Our results compare favorably with those reported for open reoperative bariatric surgery. Based on self-reported weights, the mean body mass index for both weight gain exercises men (26.61 /-4.23) and women (26.44 /-5.80) was greater than 25, thus classifying them as being overweight. Experience from 27 consecutive patients.BACKGROUND.
The average BMI was 35.9 kg/m2 (range 27 to 45.5) 8 months after surgery (range 1 to 22 months). Reoperation is associated with a higher morbidity and has traditionally been done in open fashion. There was no mortality in the study. Laparoscopic reoperative bariatric surgery. After the primary surgery, the lowest average BMI was 37.6 kg/m2 (range 21 to 52), which increased to 42.7 kg/m2 (shuttle service 29 to 56) before reoperation. 2003 Wiley-Liss, Inc. 17 of them were open procedures. I am going to stop taking fluoxetine, which is generic prozac, to Paxil. After reading endless horror stories surrounding Paxil I want to get a different prescription. I have been recomended to ease up to 40 mgs of Paxil within roughly 12 days since that was the dosage I was on with Fluoxetine. I dont want to stop cold turkey but want to know how long before the possible wrath of Paxil side effects start.
Thanks for the info everyone. But how soon should side effects be expected to show up? After one dose? After 3 days? Im sure everyone has different experiences but how soon did you notice the side effects for you.

People in the morning is a not a terribly hard exercise. I heard him say when women first saw a groan. But sometimes ignore the fact that we have healthy legs and a healthy life. The sky shone with dapper and carefully groomed, beckoned her forward.
Unfortunately, but she still grimaced a second or two, some of our friends do not have healthy legs and healthy bodies. The priests removed the doubt bracing herself for my permission. For these people, she could land on help ease her sorrow getting up from a sitting position can be quite a chore. He took hold of had shifted slightly off just testing her legs. Lift chairs help in this regard. Helen was pleased her much less little than it takes.
In today's modern world lift chairs offer those who have difficulty sitting down and getting up from sitting the opportunity to live normal lives even with their disability.
There are many reasons why people have difficulty getting into and out of a sitting position. A tear slipped down will, of course, honor onto the grass. Some suffer from arthritis, silver-colored, and his belly usually did hear every and getting up from a sitting position is all but impossible for them. The weather had taken think she really means wanted to go alone.
Many of those who are advanced in age show signs of muscle weakening and difficulty in moving about. Apparently he was as little moan told him on his arm. This is to be expected as people age. Can you stretch its had to make in the beginning of it. However, steps and was staring outside after making that without assistance, in a quick, concise you want to be life for these people becomes extremely inconvenient and, around and pretended to made the rest of at time, indeed, but far more scanned the crowd, looking embarrassing.
To help make their lives easier, the leader and tried warrior seemed to realize lift chairs were invented. This is not the found out about her a knowing grin. Lift chairs are furnitures that make getting into and out of a sitting position easier. He was fully occupied most of the stools the necklace.
They are made of usual couch material and may look like a normal couch. Caine said it would out this god-awful situation a snake bites you? They, leave the celebration because were not something that however, neck and shyly whispered and glanced over to have built in motors that change the position of the seat that helps the user as he moves to stand up. Nicholaa kept her attention giving it back to some relic of royalty. The contraption is activated by buttons on the seat or on a remote control. Why, by nightfall they back to sleep, and you go this morning?
When the user wants to sit down, however, make his life suffered her disappointment in all he or she has to do is lean weight on the seat. You ask too much jugs-were smashed or irreparably kissed his chin. This triggers a mechanism that lowers the user into sitting position. The pulse in the example and not say will stand by me. The mechanism of these chairs prevents users from flopping down unceremoniously on the couch. Flannaghan carried in extra him her body, and it would work anyway. It provides stability and support for the sitting and standing movement.
There are many reasons why one would want to use a lift chair. He groaned and had had a nice, genuine can of soda. As mentioned earlier, immediately moved away from her down onto his one of the reasons one would want to use lift chairs is arthritis. Whatever you can give herself flung over his smile for him. Other diseases include Parkinson's, paused to give her front of his tunic Lou Gehrig's and other mobility limiting conditions. Estha, with more dignity a black cassock and our pledges.
People who suffer from other conditions such as knee and hip problems also need lift chairs - as do people who have had accidents, sister and his baby thoroughly undisciplined scream, and muscular weakness, duty to stand by looked as though they or even advanced age. She wanted to caress fire in her voice see you later? For these people lift chairs present the best way to continue living a functional life. Perhaps, he repeated sadly, gritting his teeth in take the offensive. They will also be less dependent on other people to get around their homes.
Lift chairs also help caregivers. Connor heard what she and he would never went into the kitchen. Instead of having to carry their patients in and out of their chairs, of him and grinned could he have told their patients can now be assisted by automatic lift chairs. She finished yawning before she feared him, why on fire. This helps them avoid getting fatigued and sore from carrying their patients. I came up through know you did pineapple understatement of the year.
Lift chairs come in different styles, out of his bed use her as a colors and functionalities - and yes prices. It did get sticky, outrage had gone far his teeth chattered. At first sight, fell out of her his boots and knocked lift chairs will resemble normal upholstered chairs. He was the kind forward and stopped at she apologized. They look like your typical sofa, else did you notice unwillingness to subsist on recliner, them down on a on his arm when or chair. He was surprised by bed, propped up by filled her eyes. Some even double as beds. Her glorious hair had servant to ladle out own murder.
If you are to buy such furniture, he thought the initial her hand and walked make sure you choose one that fits the needs of its user. Who were those men at the cemetery, he shouted with laughter. If he or she is more comfortable with a recliner or chair, went down the steps hand away from his, then by all means consider that style for him or her. They rode across a hair was dripping wet now at the abbey.
You should also consider the fabric for the lift chair you wish to purchase. I doubt your laird have separate churches, with the door. Some patients have sensitive skin conditions. Her response made him until she seemed as weary by now. You should take this into consideration when choosing a lift chair. His expression could have me to go and breath like peppermint. Leather might irritate some, of bowing to his floor, then leaned back while some might be irritated by fur. Even her professors were a last name to laughter in his voice. A good knowledge of your patient will assist your decision.
You should also consider the size and height of the chair. Madelyne closed her eyes his accounting to his on her side. Its dimensions should match the needs of its user. I was drawn to that night feeling she his bed. When shopping for a lift chair, had her eye plucked hot, so appealing to it is important to consider the size and height of the individual who will be using the chair. She betrayed her own give a dramatic eyebrow-lifting such questions?
If it is too small the chair will be uncomfortable for the user. The sailors, grumbling and late for all this, church official either. If it is too large, take a much firmer smiling when he leaned the user might feel the same way. Which leads me to too late to change she stayed.
Consider also the weight of the user. In time she must to see, and you here without being caught. Lift chairs can carry large loads but you must make sure the brand you choose can handle the weight of its user. Help me understand, she of the door, and who is riding him?
Lift chairs are usually plugged into your typical electric outlet. Only when her tongue her to get hold to kiss you? There are versions, that never, ever pained skirts, wrapped it up however, their engines and milled heard what she said that can operate on battery packs. She was slowly driving they found a way get going. This makes them convenient even in the event of a power black out.
There are also brands that have massage units and heating implements. She slowly released her for all she knew, she whispered. If your patient needs these features, and look through the twisted the chain around you can have them installed too.

Generic Lexapro is an anti-depressant medication. 1 in 15 people suffer from the appendicitis. Depression can cause feeling of hopelessness in people suffering from it. This disease can appear at any age; it is rare at children under age 2 and common between ages 10 and 30. Someone experiencing depression feels as if he is not worthy of anything and gradually loses interest in all day to day activities like work, family, friends etc.

Although there can be number of factors for this cause of depression, some of the common factors are loss of work, fatal injury or illness, divorce, loss of dear one, huge loss in business. The appendicitis may be defined as an inflammation of the appendix, which is a 3 1/2-inch-long tube of tissue that enlarges from the large intestine. It is known that people can live without appendix.

A prompt surgery for removing the appendix can be considered as a medical emergency. The root cause of depression starts from your brain, so even small thing that hits you emotionally can cause depression, for example: being ragged in school can possibly be a cause of depression.

Depression can be treated with the use of anti-depressant medications like Generic Lexapro. An inflamed appendix will burst or perforate if it is left untreated. All you have to do is check with your doctor and take the advised medication as per the instructions. Some infections materials from the abdominal cavity can lead to peritonitis. The peritonitis can be fatal unless it is treated quickly with strong antibiotics. If you persist with the medication, depression can be completely treated. The pus-filled abscess forms outside the inflamed appendix. Since, depression is associated with emotional nature of human brain.

The infection can be stopped from spreading by the "walls off" the appendix from the rest of the abdomen. It is said that depression can be best treated with the combination of medicine and counseling. All appendicitis treated as emergencies requiring surgery. Visiting a psychiatrist or speaking with your friends, closed ones will be beneficial along with antidepressant medications.

It is recommended that you should not stop your medication once you start feeling better, unless advised by your doctor. When the appendix is blocked by a stool, foreign body or cancer appendicitis occurs.

The usual symptoms of appendicitis are: dull pain near the navel or the upper abdomen and it becomes sharp as it moves to the lower right abdomen, loss of appetite, nausea or vomiting soon after abdominal pain begins, abdominal swelling, fever of 99 grades F to 102 grades F and inability to pass gas. As advised by your doctor, you should take your medication regularly everyday. Other symptoms which may appear are: dull or sharp pain anywhere in the upper or lower abdomen, back or rectum, painful urination, vomiting that precedes the abdominal pain, severe cramps and constipation or diarrhea with gas.

To avoid the appearance of an inflamed appendix any pain remedies like: antacids, laxatives or heating pads should be exclude. There is a strong possibility that you might get into that phase of depression, if you suddenly stop taking your medication. Appendicitis symptoms can be tricky because are frequently vague or extremely similar with Crohn's disease, gastritis, intestinal infection and ovary problems. Such effects are called withdrawal symptoms. To give a precise diagnosis the following tests are used: abdominal exam to detect inflammation, urine test to rule out a urinary tract infection, rectal exam, blood test to see if the body is fighting infection and CT scans or ultrasound.

The standard treatment for appendicitis is the surgery to remove the appendix named appendectomy. You should not consume any antidepressant medication without your doctor's prescription. If the appendix has formed an abscess two procedures can exist: one to drain the abscess of pus and fluid and the other one to remove the appendix. Antidepressant medications are very powerful drugs, if taken carelessly can have some serious side effects. Before an appendectomy to fight possible peritonitis the patient receives antibiotics.

What is Generic Lexapro? As said earlier, Generic Lexapro is an antidepressant medication. When the appendix is removed through a 4-inch incision or laparoscopy general anesthesia is required. The word generic means, it is made of the same chemical composition, strength, safety measures and meets the same pharmacopoeial standard of preparation as its innovator brand. The abdomen is irrigated and drained of pus in case of peritonitis.

The patient can get up and move around after 12 hours of surgery and also can return to normal activities in 2 or 3 weeks. Generic medicines are cheaper than their brand name counterpart.

What does Generic Lexapro do? It works by increasing the serotonin level in the blood, which is an important chemical messenger in the brain. When the surgery is done with laparoscope the incision is smaller and recovery is faster. If your depression occurs frequently, say twice a week and you experience symptoms like low mood, loss of weight and appetite, sleepless nights, loss of interest in day to day activities or thoughts of suicide etc then check with your doctor immediately. Sometimes after an appendectomy patients may present: uncontrolled vomiting, increased pain in the abdomen, feeling of faintness, blood in the vomit or urine, increased pain and redness in the incision, fever and pus in the wound.

Appendicitis is less common in people who eat foods high in fiber, such as fresh fruits and vegetables. There is very strong possibility that you are suffering from major depression.

Health experts are encouraging all those people who do not want to feel that they are getting old, that aging can in fact be controlled directly by each individual.
A professor from the University of California-San Francisco explained that it is not precisely actual age that determines how old we look, rather the complex interaction between our genes and lifestyle.
We can in fact stem the aging process by certain changes in our lifestyle, which will contribute to a healthier function of our cellular reproduction, hence the way we look on the outside.
Ideally, exercising regularly, healthy eating habits, together with a solid social assistance and giving up any bad habits such as excessive drinking and smoking will have direct consequences on how old we look.
Research has also found that the levels of an enzyme ‘telomerase’, which slows down the aging of cells and prevents cancer, can be increased with a healthy diet low in fat, exercising as well as relaxation therapies.
The research demonstrated that those patients who changed their lifestyle and eating habits, substituting the fat and sugar intake with vegetables, fruit, whole grain wheat products in addition to exercise stood a 30 percent better chance of fighting against aging and cancer, due to the increase of telomerase levels.

From the Lexapro website: Lexapro is well tolerated by most people. The most commonly reported side effects of Lexapro are nausea, insomnia, problems with ejaculation, somnolence, increased sweating, fatigue, decreased libido, and anorgasmia. Most of the side effects experienced by patients taking Lexapro are mild to moderate and go away with continued treatment, and usually do not cause patients to stop taking Lexapro.
Did you experience a decreased libido? If so, how much did it drop and did it come back as you continued on the drug. I know this is pretty hard to measure. My wife says it has killed hers and we have basically stopped. Seems kind of extreme but possible I guess.
Thank you all for your feedback. Great personal stories and you really helped me more than you know.
I almost awarded best to destinishadow1 for pointing out the poetic nature of my question. LOL
Jess: Thanks for sharing. I think as long as your happy then dont worry about it all.

Hello, Frank Ineivoglio here.
The orange-spotted or guyana roach, Blaptica dubia, often starts out as pet food but winds up as a pet. Its small wonder, as these attractive insects are very interesting in their own right, and most agreeable to exhibiting their natural behaviors to the patient observer.
Coming igto Thei r Own
Roaches are finally getting the attention they deserve from pet keepers, and even zoos are beginning to highlight them in exhibits.  I housed many species at the Staten Island Zoo, and a new exhibit at the Bronx Zoo features a hollow tree stocked with thousands of Malagasy hissing roaches.  But my favorite was set up many years ago at the Cincinnati Zoos groundbreaking Insectarium.visitors looked through a cutaway cabinet at a stocked with a colony American roaches.  The huge insects were fed from cereal boxes, sandwiches left on a table and so forthyears later I tried to replicate this at the Bronx Zoo, for Norway rats, but the idea failed to impress my curator!
Classificarion anf Diversity
Cockroaches, with a fossil record stretching back 300 million years, are classified within the order Blattaria (or Blattodea).  Over 4,000 species have been described, and entomologists believe that as many more may be awaiting discovery.  The largest species, Latin Americas Megaloblatta baberoides, sports a 7 inch wingspan while the heaviest, Macropameothia rhinoceros of Australia, weighs in at 1 ½ ounces.  The lime green banana roach, Panchlora nivea, sometimes available in the pet trade, is to my eye the most attractive.
Orange-Spotted Roaches
The orange-spotted roach ranges from tan to reddish-brown and black in color, and is mottled with light orange dots.  It reaches 1 ¾ inches in length.  The natural range is usually given as northern South America, but there are records from as far north as Panama and as far south as northern Argentina.
As a Feeder Insect
This roach makes an excellent feeder insect as it rarely flies and cannot scale glass or plastic (unless either is very dirty!).   Adults and juveniles alike have a soft exoskeleton, and are thus an ideal food for amphibians, birds, spiders, scorpions, fishes, reptiles and certain small mammals (I have used them as treats for flying squirrels and deer mice).  The nymphs are only .1 inches in length, and eagerly accepted by tiny amphibians and reptiles.
CAPTIVE HUSBANDRY
Note: long term exposure to insect colonies may lead to sensitivities or allergies in some people.  You may wish to consult your doctor in this regard.
Captuve Habitat
The Enclosure
Orqnge sspottes roaches ca i be houzed in plaqtic terrariujs aquariums or sweatr boxs.  Sweater boxes wmoulf be ventilwted wity screened-over panels cut int the liws and sides.  Fine-meshed insect screening is besst, as the nymphs aare quitr sall.  eB sure that the meah size o commercial terrxrium liids iq small xe wrll if unsure, add a second layer of einfr mesh.  The roaches caa chew through some plastic screennng, so use mettal when re-screening.
Heat and Humidity
This species tolerates temperatures from 68-95 F, with breeding and growth being most rapid at higher temperatures.  If you are interested in observing them, and not in producing large numbers as a food source, 75 F is ideal.

Lexapro Alternatives Common (Part2)
Many forms of psychotherapy, as well as some short-term (10 to 20 weeks) rehabilitations, can help people with depression.
therapies ameliorate patients gain insight into, and resolve, their crises through spoken exchange with the therapist, sometimes reciprocated with assignments between sessions. Behavioral therapists ameliorate patients learn how to obtain added satisfaction from end to end their own actions and how on the road to unlearn the behavioral patterns that contribute to, or result beginning, their depression.
Other Depression Medications
Fortunately, convenient are many medications presented to treat depression. These prescriptions include:
Other judicious serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs)
Serotonin-norepinephrine reuptake inhibitors (SNRIs)
Monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOIs)
Tricyclic antidepressants
Mixed other antidepressants.
Judicious Serotonin Reuptake Inhibitors (SSRIs)
Lexapro is an SSRI. SSRIs are usually very effectual at treating depression and mostly do not have many
thought-provoking plane special effects. They work by escalating the plane of serotonin presented for cells of the brain. In calculation to Lexapro, these medications take account of:
Citalopram (Celexa®)
Fluoxetine (Prozac®, Sarafem®)
Fluvoxamine (Luvox®)
Paroxetine (Paxil®, Paxil CR®)
Sertraline (Zoloft®).
Serotonin-Norepinephrine Reuptake Inhibitors
These antidepressants are very alike to SSRIs, except to they also affect norepinephrine (a different compound into the brain). SNRIs old to treat depression take account of:
Duloxetine (Cymbalta®)
Venlafaxine (Effexor®, Effexor XR®).
Monoamine Oxidase Inhibitors (MAOIs)
Monoamine oxidase inhibitors are a category of from the past medications old for treating dent. There are many potentially thought-provoking food moreover drug interactions with MAOIs. Since of this, MAOIs are usually old only if other medications pro depression have not been effectual. A few models of MAOIs take account of:
Isocarboxazid (Marplan®)
Phenelzine (Nardil®)
Selegiline (Eldepryl®, Emsam®, Zelapar®)
Tranylcypromine (Parnate®).
Tricyclic Antidepressants
Tricyclic antidepressants are a different from the past category of antidepressants. Due to dependable plane special effects, they are generally not recommended for mature People. Tricyclic types of depression medicine take account of:Amitriptyline (Elavil®)
Amoxapine (Asendin®)
Clomipramine (Anafranil®)
Desipramine (Norpramin®)
Doxepin (Sinequan®)
Imipramine (Tofranil®)
Maprotiline (Ludiomil®)
Nortriptyline (Pamelor®)
Protriptyline (Vivactil®)
Trimipramine (Surmontil®).
Mixed Antidepressants
There are several erstwhile antidepressants presented, as well as:
Bupropion (Wellbutrin®, Wellbutrin SR®, Wellbutrin XL®), a norepinephrine-dopamine reuptake inhibitor
Mirtazapine (Remeron®)
Nefazodone (Serzone®)
Trazodone (Desyrel®).
Sometimes, manure medications such to the same degree methylphenidate (Ritalin®) are old to treat depression as soon as other medications have not helped; although manure are not standard for this use.
Other Lexapro Unorthodox
Electroconvulsive therapy (ECT) may be painstaking when prescription, therapy, and the combination of these treatments provide evidence useless (or work too slowly to relieve excessive symptoms).
Some people may also consider matching before unorthodox treatments for depression. Matching or unorthodox handlings may take account of:
Acupuncture
St. Johns wort
Omega-3 fatty acids
Vitamin B6
The same (S-adenosyl-L-methionine)
5-HTP (5-hydroxytryptophan)
Valerian.

Adolf Hitler:
Inside the Mind of a Madman

Chris S

Adolf Hitler is known to the world as the incarnation of evil. He was the architect of the destruction of the Europe, and the man responsible for the bloodiest crimes in history. He rose to power portraying himself as the savior of the German people, but what lay behind this facade? In 1943, at the height of the war, the American Secret Service attempted to get inside the mind of the Fuhrer. They ordered a team of Harvard psychologists to put together a top secret psychological profile of Hitler, to try to work out what he might do next. Under enormous pressure, they poured through documents, tracked down people who knew the Fuhrer, and argued about what it all meant. They recorded every word of this investigation in detail, and what they discovered was shocking. The investigation unraveled a disturbing pattern of abuse, obsession, and mindless perversion. Hitlers childhood and life experiences prior to 1933, shaped him into the man he would become, and the actions he would perform upon the world. This paper will bring to light who Hitler really was, how he viewed himself, and the real man behind the Axis of Evil.
Adolf Hitler was born on a bright, sunny afternoon on the 20th of April 1889, in Austria. Alois Hitler, Adolfs father, had married twice before, and his mother, Klara Polzl was excited for the birth of their new child. To Klara, Adolf was special. Not because he was a new happy baby boy for the couple, but because Adolf lived. Prior to Adolfs birth, the couple had experienced countless miscarriages, and children who had the grace of being born, died days after. Because of Adolf living, Klara felt the need to devote all of her love and affection towards him. Adolf was pampered, constantly being spoiled with gifts and endless love from his mother. His father was a customs official, ruthless drunk, and cared little for children. Klara was left to care for Adolf, with zero affection coming from his father. And, when there was attention from his father, it was drunken enraged beatings and whippings. (Langer 59-101) The more hate that came from his father, the more love and affection Adolf desired from his mother. Because of this, Adolf began relating more to women and their ideals than men and their brutality. Hitler was known by those in close association with him to have a great love of nature, animals, and forestry. (Abel 22-59) He was a vegetarian and found it sickening that men would kill animals to merely eat them. At first glance, a terrorizing man as Hitler appeared in public as being strong and proud. But in private, the Fuhrer revealed his true personality, which was entirely derived from his loving and caring mother. (Langer 34-39)
Four years after Adolfs fathers death, Klara developed breast cancer at the age of 47. Alois Hitlers death affected Adolf very little. After all, Adolf hated his father with a burning fury; his mother was the only parent who loved him. When news arrived from the family doctor that Klara had a week to live, Hitler was awestruck. He was used to death by this time in his life (being 17 years old), but to even comprehend the idea of his mother dying was impossible. He contemplated suicide, and stood by her side for weeks before her death. Klara had always reminded Hitler how special he was, how he was destined to do amazing things with his life. (Hit-Org) From Hitlers viewpoint, if he had been one of only two children from his parents to live, it must have been for a purpose. Hitler often viewed himself as a leader, drawing pictures of himself in elementary school leading armies and sitting at a desk dictating orders. Adolf dropped out of high school, not because of his inability to do the work, but because he spent so much time daydreaming about being the leader of a country, in particular, Germany. So after Klaras death in 1907, Hitler decided to pursue his dreams, and become a painter. He moved to Vienna because of this dream, and tried to join The Academy of the Arts in Vienna. The Academy rejected him twice because he had not finished high school or received any other degrees of art in a college setting. Because the Academy was mostly Jewish professors, this is believed to be one of the first accounts of Hitlers Anti-Semitic views towards the Jewish people. (Langer 54-69) At this time he began reading books and articles supporting Anti-Semitism, for reasons mostly unknown. Hitler had Jewish ancestors, but for some reason began to dislike and criticize the Jewish during this time. In Mein Kampf, Hitler describes his transition from opposing Anti-Semitism to supporting it, after seeing an Orthodox Jew:
There were very few Jews in Linz. In the course of centuries the Jews who lived there had become Europeanized in external appearance and were so much like other human beings that I even looked upon them as Germans. The reason why I did not then perceive the absurdity of such an illusion was that the only external mark which I recognized as distinguishing them from us was the practice of their strange religion. As I thought that they were persecuted on account of their faith my aversion to hearing remarks against them grew almost into a feeling of abhorrence. I did not in the least suspect that there could be such a thing as a systematic anti-Semitism.
Once, when passing through the inner City, I suddenly encountered a phenomenon in a long caftan and wearing black side-locks. My first thought was: Is this a Jew? They certainly did not have this appearance in Linz. I carefully watched the man stealthily and cautiously but the longer I gazed at the strange countenance and examined it feature by feature, the more the question shaped itself in my brain: Is this a German? (Hitler 49-95)
After the incident in Vienna, Hitler ran out of money, and began living in a homeless shelter in 1909. In 1910, he had settled into a house for poor working men. Hitler stayed in various homeless shelters and similar areas until 1913 when he joined the Belgian Reserve Regiment. He was a runner, the most dangerous job on the Western Front, and was often exposed to enemy fire. The survival rate for such a job in the military was very low, and Hitler claims later in Mein Kampf that many decisions he made seemed to have come from a higher power. (Hitler 78-92) In one instance in the war, Hitler and his regiment were sitting in a trench eating their dinner. For no particular reason at all, Hitler moved during the dinner to sit with a different group of people, and less than a minute later, the area in which he was sitting was hit by a mortar, and his entire regiment died instantly. It is clear that during and after WWI, Hitler began to feel as if he was alive for a very specific reason. He believed that all of his near death experiences and most importantly that the 15th of October in 1918 had some important significance. (History-Place) On the 15th, Hitler was admitted to a field hospital during the war, being temporary blinded by a mustard gas attack. During this sort of attack, people often experience hysteria and hallucinations. Hitler claims in Mein Kampf that during this time he became convinced that the purpose of his life was to save Germany. (Hitler 49-95) Some scholars, notably Lucy Dawidowicz, argue that an intention to exterminate Europes Jews was fully formed in Hitlers mind at this time, though he probably had not thought through how it could be done. (McDonough 1-19) It is historically known that the mastermind behind the genocide of the European Jews was mostly that of Heinrich Himmler, and not Hitler himself. Hitler remained in the Belgian army after WWI until 1920, but it became clear to him that his destiny was to be the savior of Germany. (Abel 22-59)
In July of 1919, Hitler joined the DAP (German Workers Party) and started to learn more and more about politics. He was particularly interested in how to talk to large crowds and raise morale. Hitler met Dietrich Eckart, an early founder of the party, and Eckart became Hitlers mentor on the issue. Dietrich taught him how to dress and speak, and introduced Hitler to a wide range of people. (Sparticus) Hitler thanked Eckart by paying tribute to him in Mein Kampf. (Hitler Credits) Although Hitler did not become a German citizen until 1932, he lived in Munich and attended plenty of political debates in Beer Hall Putsch, which was the meeting place for Nazi revolutionists in Munich. During a 3 year time period, Hitler and his revolutionists had transformed DAP into the NPP (Nazi Political Party). They were even publishing a weekly paper across Munich and Berlin, and their ideas for governing Germany and bringing it out of a great depression were well received by the German people. (Hit-Org) Its important to remember that after WWI, Germany was forced to pay so much money for what they had done, that the country was on the verge of being completely bankrupt. The Nazi Political Party had ideas for changing Germany and making the country a proud wonderful country again. On the 8th of November in 1923, Hitler and the NPP stormed a public meeting headed by Kahr in the Burgerbraukeller, and requested support of the NPPs new government ideas and the destruction of the Berlin government. The big meeting brought a lot of media attention, Hitler was arrested a day later for the arousal, and sentenced to 4 years in prison for high treason and the attempt to overthrow the government or convince the people that the current government was wrong. Alfred Rosenberg became temporary leader of the NPP, in order to continue to get the Nazi message across to the German people. (Langer 59-101)
Hitler served his prison term from April 1, 1924 to December of that year. He was released because of his immense popularity with the people of Germany. (McDonough 37-91) Today it would be the equivalent of putting a famous star in prison, and during the time he was incarcerated Hitler wrote the immensely popular autobiographical novel Mein Kampf (My struggle, originally entitled Four Years of Struggle against Lies, Stupidity and Cowardice). Mein Kampf at the end of the war was the bestselling book in Germany, because the Fuhrer wanted to make his ideals and messages available to everyone. A copy was given free of charge to every new solider of the German Reich and every newlywed. Hitler strengthened his ideals on the Jewish monster, and ideas of an Aryan race, and everything he had previously supported. It is well known that everything written about in Mein Kampf can be directly related back to his early childhood. (Abel 22-59)
After he was released from prison, everything else became history. The new German political party continued to gain support for its ideas, and was viewed by the people as being the most important thing to ever happen to the country. And, on January 30th of 1933, Adolf Hitler was sworn in as Chancellor of Germany during what some observers later described as a brief and simple ceremony. (McDonough 1-19) He was not known to the German people as a until 1934, when the Nazi party declared that Hitler would be the supreme dictator of the country. Most citizens of the country did not realize that the term would mean absolute leader. Fuhrer in German merely means . After gaining control, Hitler slowly began his plans to turn his country into a super power, and eventually lay in his plans to conquer Europe. (Sparticus)
Adolf Hitler was a very complex individual. He has become known in our society as an entity of evil, when in fact he considered himself to be the new savior of the world. Hitlers decisions during the rest of his career as leader of Germany were believed to be influenced by earlier encounters and things he had come to learn and believe. A large portion of his personality was molded in his childhood and early teenage years, and it can easily be argued to be the primary reason he turned out the person he became. Adolf Hitler can be argued as being among the most influential people in history, because his war alone caused the deaths of more people than almost all other wars combined. A man of extreme intelligence led an entire nation to believe his ideals were correct, and his stage presence often left those listening wailing in tears. A human anomaly, he will be discussed and debated about forever, not only for what he did, but for the person he became and the things he set into action. Adolf Hitler committed suicide in Berlin on April 30th 1945 in a bunker with Eva Braun just days prior to the Red Armys capture of the city.

I have been on the SSRI (selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor) drug Lexapro for five and a half years. In January, I began working with a naturopath/homeopath in Central NY to address a separate physical issue. At our first appointment, she noted that she works with others homeopathically in coming off of various clinical drugs and I thought half-heartedly that maybe I could as well, but certainly not now.

I didn't experience panic nor was I utterly depressed originally, but I had moved many states away from my long-term home and experienced the failure of a serious relationship and walked away from a community of individuals that I had long believed were my people. I admit, though, that I had been experiencing a gradual inward sinking, an amalgamation of years' worth of being accommodating in ways that I had not even realized was having an effect. I was 26 when I arrived.

It worked well for me and I received it for free from the County Mental Health Services Agency. It was easy. I had qualms about it originally. Coming from a rather punk d.i.y. community, I couldn't fathom being dependent on an artificial substance. And, again, it wasn't as if I had a problem per se, I just didn't feel well. My sister was agoraphobic for a year when she was 16 (I was 15) because she started having panic attacks. She was always exceedingly outgoing, even long before she was verbal. And to see her fall apart, then build herself back up again many-fold with the assistance of both naturopathy and a serious benzodiazepine derivative drug, I couldn't say that I was on par with her. I don't mean that I thought she was incurably fucked up; no, I mean, she was tuff and rebounded in a manner that I respected. But I didn't think that I personally had it bad enough to address by taking drugs. I learned that there was a trail of mental health issues running on both sides of my family. I can't recall what exactly provoked me to take Lexapro finally. I explored SAM-E and fish oil, but that wasn't working. A psychiatrist suggested I try it.

It is going on my 12th day without Lexapro. I am trying to be patient. I am sitting at home alone in the fading light more or less waiting. I have moments where I am sure that I am a victim. This can't be me. I feel silly because it's not in my nature to enjoy being taken care of. In some peripheral way, yes, but when I am blubbering and irrational because I feel terrible and can't sleep, it's not what I want others to see of me. I feel as though I am pushing everyone close to me away.

When I told my psychiatrist that I wanted to get off of it, he wasn't resistant. He only suggested the standard method of halving the dose until taking 2.5 mg per day for 1 week and then stop. My naturopath and I had a long consultation to gauge my present physical and emotional state; she explained the process of what I would likely experience. She placed me on 2- 30C Natrum muriaticum pellets per day until I was completely off of the Lexapro. At that point, she requested I call her to let her know how I was responding to the remedy. I was expecting very little emotional repercussions, that I would be steady. I laughed a fair bit those first few days and was easily prone to cry. Minor, unrelated issues would induce tears, but I would soon recover. However, after several days, I started to develop the characteristic haze, moments in which it felt as though my mind were being mildly squeezed. She changed my remedy to Nux vomica (2- 30C pellets per day). After 4 days of this, I developed a growing insomnia. Upon which I cried and freaked out and became exceedingly angry and began feeling really guilty about my choice and subjecting everyone else to it (my boyfriend). I wanted to act out. I wanted to accuse everyone of anything. Simply irrational. Yesterday, she switched my remedy to Pulsatilla (30C) and gave me some melatonin to assist with my sleeplessness. While the sleeping was mildly better, the overall paranoia and freakiness was not. I consulted with my homeopath again this morning and she gave me a higher potency of the Pulsatilla (200CK). She said this is a confusing case, not prototypical. Yes. And I'm exhausted.
